Ruby Lin and the crew promoting “Sofie’s Revenge,” a movie that I’ve no interest in whatsoever.

0.0 Huang Yi’s heels!! haha She should wear brighter color.

I’m back!!!!!! No excuse to where I’ve been though. ^^
Anyway, my favs (Ruby Lin, Crystal / Betty Huang Yi, Ada Choi, Miriam Yeung, etc) attended the Shanghai Film Festival on June 13, 2009.
And OMG, Ruby Lin looks stunning from the hair to the face to the dress. I can’t say it enough, the girl doesn’t age, doesn’t she? So envious.

Next up is my old, new fav Huang Yi. She’s one of those actresses I prefer to see in ancient and traditional outfits more than modern dresses. Her dress is simple, but I think the feel will be a lot sexier with her hair down and somewhat curly. This pull back hairstyle makes her looked old, or I usually just hate this style. I love her though. My heart skipped a beat when she almost tripped. She was fine.

Lastly, I also spotted Ada Choi, Miriam Yeung and Richie Ren. The pixs didn’t do justice for Ada’s beauty though
It’s only March, 2009 but this year already seems like a busy and exciting year for both Ruby Lin and her fans. Beside the new album, let’s see what’s up with her…
“Night Rose” hit theaters!
I wasn’t excited about it at first ’cause of the cheap-looking poster. Now I’m so anxious!!! The trailer looks lovely – the usual romantic movie I adore, and the guy is cuter than I expected. keke Of course, my irresistible Ruby Lin!
Short hair image in “Sofie’s Revenge” revealed

I dislike Ruby’s hair (Doesn’t she remind you of Ada Choi for a second?) and Fan Bing Bing but then I like Ruby and Peter Ho. “Sofie’s Revenge” is a comedy movie including Zhang ziyi, Ruby Lin, Fan Bing Bing, So Ji Sup (Korea), and Peter Ho. I hope it’ll be a breakthrough for Ruby.
Mentioning of Peter Ho, I guess Peter and Ruby become friends? Ruby has always been popular among the guys celebrities. *WINK*
Star in Peter Ho’s new MV
I’m glad Ruby returns to her usual looks. These two look compatible! Although he might be owned by Da S. lol
Legend and Hero was aired
I heard positive review about the show, so I was glad.

My interest for Viet music is on the decline. This year I only listen to it when Asia, Paris by Night, and Van Son videos come out, which more or less 10 times a year, not mentioning I don’t watch them thoroughly. There is nothing new and exciting as they keep recycling old songs. It doesn’t matter who sings the song anymore as it all sounds alike by now. I’ll stop listening to Viet music altogether once Thien Kim retires. Only when I listen to Thien Kim, I can recall why I love Viet music so much. This year I’m go glad she and her fellow junior Quoc Khanh came out with the new hit song (Yeyy new!) “Vang Trang Tinh Yeu.” I guess that’s my Viet music wrap up.

Foreign music hit my door with excitement this year. Totally hooked into Miriam Yeung’s songs all summer and later fell in love with her newest CD “Wonder Miriam.” If I’ve to pick my current new fav song, it’s the soothing “Person Who Scoops the Moon” (what a boring MV though). I like slow, soothing music a lot as you can tell I’m a devoted Thien Kim’s fan and love “Person”. However, sometime slow music can honesty bore me out. I, of course, have listened to Ruby’s newest CD, and it takes a longer time for me to feel her slower songs. I wonder if it’s her clearer, thinner voice makes the song sounds rather bland, lacking the emotional feel to it or maybe the melody is simply not that interesting, some doesn’t have that climax I am waiting for. I enjoy her upbeat tracks a lot and those with nice melody to it. Frankly, although Ruby can definitely sing, I love Ruby more as an actress.

Although I’ve never blogged about the Korean TV variety show “WE GOT MARRIED,” I’m a FAN! I guess this is a good tribute since all the original couples are gone (3 on the left). In case you don’t have a clue about it, they bring 2 celebs together (mostly singers) and let them live a married couple life. My favorites are Alex & ShinAe (although they were a bit boring afterward), Hyun Joong & Hwang Bo, Andy (he’s too good for Solbi), and Son Dambi (I can’t stand Marco’s personality). So anyway, since all of them are singers, I can hear their songs playing one way or the other. I got into Dambi’s “Crazy” (and later “Cry Eyes“) from her ringtone and dancing to her hubby, Hwang Bo’s “Mature” & “Get Hot” when she was practicing their cute missions to her hubby (not very good songs though), Alex’s “Flowerpot” when he sang it to his wife on their first farewell episode, etc.

Most recently thanks to “We Got Married” I’m addicted to the girl group – Wonder Girls! Ye Eun and Yoobin made guests’ apperance in the show and there you go. Omo I couldn’t believe how young they are! Ranging from 16 to 20. They all look older than their age if you don’t see their behind the scenes goodies. I’m so addicted with their “Nobody” (Original, Ballad, Disco, and 5 in 1 versions). Here are my impression of each member (most to least favorites):
1. Ye Eun – good singer, good dancer, pretty, friendly, smart, sincere, fun, I can go on forever. I love how she can’t resist food, will unconsciously walk straight up to it – our talented food queen. lol When she becomes teary and emotional by little or big things, her humbleness and appreciative personality is definitely well-respected by me.
Totally addicted to this song:
Ye Eun sang 3 songs at a game show. Managed to perform fairly well even when she didn’t know the lyrics and Sun Ye (the leader) helped her on the side.
2. Sun Ye – Besides Ye Eun, Sun Ye’s singing is the best in the group and is a great leader in both musical and personal aspect in taking care of other members (great example with the clip above). Even though I’m older than her, I’d like an older sister like Sun Ye. She appears a lot older than her age (19), in a good sense.
Sun Ye (the first girl) and Ye Eun performed with their boss JYP. Their English is very good for non-English speakers.
Another Sun Ye and Ye Eun’s duet. Ye Eun sure needed Sun Ye’s leading, nice teamwork! The start was okay but it grew on me quickly toward the end.
Note: I don’t mind them underpromoting Ye Eun for Sun Ye ’cause both is talented and she is the leader, but I can’t stand it when the company favors So Hee. Therefore, I’m very supportive of Ye Eun going solo.
3. Sun Mi – What a cute kid! Very professional and mature on stage but a dork and a cutie off stage and she should be for a 16 year-old. I was watching their trip to New York. The girl lost her laptop and went out on NY street posting up “LOST LAPTOP” flyers. When she came back, she asked a group member about it and got this in return: “Yeah, it’s in my bag. You let me borrow it last night, so I keep it.” haha! I’d love a little sis like her. So adorable.
4. Yoo Bin – a rapper. She looks like a fun person.
5. So Hee – the youngest and probably most popular (??) among the group. I don’t want to be so harsh on a kid but So Hee is the only one I dislike from the group. I don’t like it when kid tried to act mature. Her face is so cold, even when people are telling joke or something too, sort of disrespectful at time. Singing wise, her voice is too weak. Nothing about this girl works for me.
Good Youtube channel for Wonder Girls’ variety shows is Wondersubbers and music channel is Wondersmurf
Randoms…
I don’t know if this is consider as music but I also like Korean commercials / MV, very interesting to watch. My favorites are Lee Hyo Ri’s AnyClub (featuring Kwan Sang Woo & Eric) and AnyStar (featuring Lee Jun Ki).
The drama “On Air” also has nice soundtracks: One Word (FT Island), Aman (Cyndi), Sky Love (Kim Ha Neul), and Lee Bum Soo’s singing in On Air.
Kim Jong Kook – Today is More Than Yesterday
BoA – Eat You Up
Overall, I’ve a very fruitful musical year thanks to all these artistes.
